Court of Protection Solicitor

Overview

In this role you will join Fieldfisher’s market‑leading Court of Protection team in London to manage a busy deputyship and personal injury trusts caseload. You will collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues (PI and Medical Negligence) to deliver high‑quality advice, court applications, and deputy reports, while developing business and client relationships. The role offers exposure to high‑value, complex damages work and opportunities to drive efficiency and innovative service delivery. Responsibilities

• Manage routine deputyship and personal injury trusts under supervision, focusing on litigating and substantial settled cases
• Liaise with clients, families, case managers and other professionals with sensitivity
• Collaborate with Personal Injury and Medical Negligence solicitors on litigated matters
• Assist senior members with complex cases
• Draft Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports
• Coordinate interim billing and assess professional costs in detail
• Maintain accurate records and manage files efficiently
• Perform administrative tasks and conduct legal research
• Assist with business development initiatives
• Ensure precise time recording and effective diary management
• Communicate with clients, counsel, barristers and external advisors professionally and empathetically

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor with 0–4 PQE in a Court of Protection department
• Strong client focus and excellent communication skills
• Strong academics
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
