Overview

As a Consultant Radiologist, you will lead Upper GI imaging across two hospital sites within an expanding department. You’ll support cancer MDT activity, contribute to general radiology and sub-specialty reporting, and mentor junior staff. The role offers flexible working and a structured job plan, with on-call duties to sustain delivery of high-quality imaging services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive patient-centered imaging care and service improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Share in general imaging workload and sub-specialty reporting using PACS
  • Contribute to department-wide work including GP and clinician query responses
  • Maintain general radiology practice while supporting sub-specialty areas
  • Participate in on-call rota and ensure sustainable shift patterns
  • Involve in organisation and administration of Radiology and teaching of staff
  • Train junior radiology staff and support multidisciplinary colleague education
  • Engage in clinico-radiological meetings and MDTs
  • Address imaging queries and provide expert opinions across radiology challenges

Key requirements

  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice
  • Excellent experience in Cross-Sectional Imaging
  • Broad radiology skills including CT, US, plain films, and MRI
  • Experience in Fluoroscopy, small bowel ultrasound, and MRI
  • Experience in Cancer Imaging and MDT participation
  • Ability to take independent clinical responsibility and on-call duties
  • Commitment to CPD, audit, and service improvement
  • Strong organisational skills
