Overview
In this role you will drive M&A and growth initiatives for Kraken’s Corporate Development team, enabling strategic transactions and portfolio value creation. You will work with cross-functional colleagues to assess opportunities, build financial models, and prepare materials for executive and Board review. The position blends diligence leadership with modeling, analytics, and storytelling to translate complex opportunities into actionable strategies. Responsibilities
- Lead due diligence on live transactions, manage data rooms, and coordinate diligence sessions; draft consolidated diligence reports
- Create operating models, trading comps, precedent transactions, DCF, and accretion/dilution analyses
- Prepare first-pass screening memos and teardowns on inbound opportunities
- Support venture investment portfolio management: track deal terms, quarterly KPI updates, and valuation marks (IRR/MOIC)
- Support M&A cash obligations with rolling FP&A/ Treasury cash outflow forecasts
- Prepare executive deal materials and Board pages with supporting data analysis
- Handle additional duties as assigned
Key requirements
- 4+ years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, management consultancy, or startup
- Bachelor’s degree (as stated)
- Strong ability to scrutinize business models within a financial institution
- Excellent financial modeling and valuation skills
- Proven problem solving, writing (deal memos), and storytelling about industry trends
- Advanced Excel and data analysis tool experience
- Ability to work self-directed across multiple live, high-priority transactions
