As Commercial Finance Manager, you partner with Consulting and Sector units to deliver real-time financial insight and strategic guidance. You will influence decisions on bids, contracts, pricing and team structures, driving value creation. You provide rigorous reporting, forecasting, and ad‑hoc analyses to support growth. You will work with senior stakeholders across the business and help shape commercial strategy in a fast-paced, global environment. Responsibilities
- Strategic business partnering with unit leadership to drive financial insights
- Deliver forward-looking analysis and reporting at client and Go-to-Market levels
- Educate leaders on financial principles and commercial acumen
- Lead workshops on finance topics such as bid modelling, the PA model and value creation strategies
- Provide commercial risk management including open book reporting and high-risk assignment reviews
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle from bid modelling to job closure ensuring sound financial setup, pricing, and risk mitigation
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting with variance analysis
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and sensitivity modelling for business units
- Perform earned-value analysis for revenue and profit recognition
- Monitor profitability against bid projections and advise on corrective actions
- Oversee invoicing, payment terms, debt collection, and working capital management
- Review subcontractor arrangements and ensure P2P processes accuracy
- Actively manage contract risk portfolios and propose commercially sound solutions
- Prepare for internal audits and support external audit cycles, ensuring SOX compliance
Key requirements
- The equivalent of a UK 2:1 degree
- Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA
- Experience in influencing senior stakeholders
- Experience managing cross-functional relationships
- Strong commercial acumen and awareness
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis
- Experience in a global professional services environment and/or dealing with UK Government (desirable)
