Overview
In this role you will plan and deliver highway projects across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire for a leading highways contractor. You will support operations on schemes, ensuring staffing, subcontractors, and materials are available when needed. You’ll manage procurement, payments, and regular progress reporting to clients, while coordinating with traffic management teams. The role involves resource allocation, with some engineering tasks, leveraging your civil engineering background to support maintenance works and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan and complete highway projects across the region
- Support all operational activities on schemes
- Manage labour, subcontractors, and materials
- Coordinate procurement and payment of suppliers/subcontractors
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports including CVRs and forecasts
- Attend monthly client progress meetings
- Collaborate with traffic management teams to deliver works
- Allocate internal and external resources to defect works with planning
- Undertake engineering tasks related to highway/motorway maintenance
Key requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years in highways or motorway maintenance
- Degree in civil engineering is advantageous
- Experience in project delivery and schemes coordination
- Knowledge of procurement and supplier management
