Overview

In this role you will drive growth and expand Waters’ bioanalytical solutions footprint in academic, government, and pharma research spaces. You will work with regional sales and marketing to build targeted plans, cultivate institutional relationships, and communicate LC-MS and flow cytometry value to diverse scientific audiences. You’ll navigate funding cycles and strategic priorities to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships. This role offers the impact of shaping adoption of advanced analytical workflows across research institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across academic, government, and pharma research organizations
  • Develop and implement sales plans tailored to academic funding cycles and institutional priorities
  • Collaborate with regional sales and marketing to convert opportunities into orders
  • Provide technical presentations, workflow discussions, demonstrations, and proposals/quotes
  • Deliver remote and in-person training for sales and marketing on academic bioanalytical workflows
  • Create and execute promotional initiatives aligned with academic trends
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with PIs, core directors, and research staff
  • Provide regular performance and market feedback to guide strategy and forecast pipeline
  • Maintain knowledge of LC‑MS, flow cytometry, and related analytical technologies
  • Capture researcher feedback to support ongoing refinement of bioanalytical solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive, research-focused solutions

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in sales or business development serving academic, government, or pharmaceutical markets
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office; experience with business analytics tools
  • Ability to assess research needs and translate into commercial strategies
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for campus visits and events
