As an Assistant Portfolio Manager, you support the management of multiple funds in line with objectives and risk limits. You work with research analysts to surface investment ideas and ensure the broader strategy is aligned with senior leadership. You handle day-to-day portfolio activity, perform detailed research, and help prepare clear reporting for stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Support portfolio construction in line with fund objectives, risk budgets, and guidelines
- Manage day-to-day portfolio activity including cash flows, corporate actions, and index changes
- Conduct detailed research to identify opportunities across global bond markets
- Collaborate with research analysts to assess ideas with fundamental, quantitative and ESG factors
- Monitor performance metrics, risk, positioning and attribution
- Produce investment reporting for internal stakeholders and clients
- Contribute to presentations, marketing activity and sharing research across teams
- Maintain high standards of risk management, regulatory compliance, and client-focused decision-making
Key requirements
- A degree-level qualification
- Knowledge of financial markets and macroeconomic conditions affecting bond and credit markets
- Experience analysing investment opportunities and applying financial modelling
- Understanding of portfolio construction, risk measures and forward-looking risk assessment
- Ability to develop well-researched investment insights from detailed analysis
- Strong analytical skills; coding capability and familiarity with investment analysis applications beneficial
