Overview

As Actuarial Engineer at AXIS Capital, you help build and evolve pricing and exposure management systems for reinsurance and enterprise risk. You’ll work within a global, agile team to implement actuarial methodologies and modelling algorithms that drive pricing accuracy and risk insight. The role combines actuarial science with software development to deliver next-generation solutions in a fast-growing area. You will collaborate across actuaries, IT, and business users to translate requirements into robust, scalable applications. Responsibilities

  • Lead development of applications for pricing and exposure management
  • Implement and maintain actuarial methodologies and modelling algorithms
  • Enhance, maintain, and support existing modelling applications
  • Gather requirements by interfacing with actuaries, exposure managers and users
  • Collaborate with IT professionals and cross-functional teams
  • Provide training and user support
  • Support end-to-end testing and business analysis
  • Document implementations clearly
  • Take on additional duties as needed
  • Work with a global, agile development team to deliver solutions

Key requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in actuarial/modelling/software development
  • Proficiency in .NET language; C# preferred
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Understanding of performance and scalability considerations
  • Analytical, conceptual, and innovative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent teamwork and communication in an international setting
  • Ability to manage priorities under pressure and time constraints
