Overview

In this Senior Cost Manager role, you will lead cost and commercial management for major Corporate Occupier projects, guiding inception through delivery. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, shaping project objectives and governance while driving efficiency with benchmarking, digital tools, and disciplined risk and change management. You’ll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet cost, schedule and quality targets, contributing to the firm’s mission of delivering impactful programmes. This is a strategic position within the Commercial Management Office that offers visibility and influence from the outset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end Cost and Commercial Management across large, complex projects
  • Provide strategic input at project inception to support client objectives
  • Lead development of project success criteria (cost, schedule, technical, performance)
  • Produce cost benchmarking and intelligence and advocate digital tools for efficiency
  • Oversee quality, health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Establish project governance, processes and systems
  • Advise on procurement of project resources
  • Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration within project teams
  • Monitor performance using KPIs and manage change control
  • Maintain client communications and ensure delivery within cost, schedule and quality parameters
  • Provide advisory services from strategy to detailed reporting
  • Fulfil SOX control responsibilities where applicable
  • Apply risk management across projects
  • Ensure governance, quality standards and risk management compliance
  • Contribute to annual budget-setting and strategic initiatives
  • Maintain accurate, secure project information
  • Act as primary client contact for day-to-day project delivery

Key requirements

  • 8-10 years’ experience as Project/Senior Cost/Commercial Manager on large projects
  • Extensive experience in project control / commercial management
  • Capital Planning experience with PMO collaboration to develop commercial strategies
  • Knowledge of proprietary cost management systems
  • Proven ability to win clients through business development
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams
  • Understanding of information management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word (editing/creating documents)
  • Excel experience with pivot tables and complex calculations/graphs
  • PowerPoint skills for quality presentations
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) or working towards unknown
