Technical Sales Manager

Overview

In this role you will blend technical design and sales collaboration to turn complex project requirements into practical solutions. You will act as a key technical contact for customers, consultants and the sales team, supporting projects from concept to order. You’ll deliver training, advise across the business, and help drive major infrastructure and industrial projects. This position offers hybrid working, overseas travel, and a chance to become a recognized technical expert in a specialist field.

Responsibilities

• Design project-specific solutions and layouts
• Prepare material take-offs, bills of quantities and schedules
• Review engineering drawings, site plans and project specifications
• Recommend suitable products based on project needs
• Support consultants, architects, contractors, civil engineers and end users with technical advice
• Develop technical drawings, design details and specification documentation
• Support Area Sales Managers with opportunities and technical proposals
• Attend customer meetings and project reviews with technical input
• Deliver product and application training to internal teams, customers, distributors, contractors and consultants
• Produce technical reports and maintain CRM records
• Stay updated on product developments and industry standards
• Represent the business at exhibitions and industry events

Key requirements

• Strong technical background in construction, civil engineering, drainage, infrastructure or similar environment
• Experience interpreting drawings and project specifications
• Ability to provide technical support to customers or sales teams
• Experience producing technical proposals, designs or project documentation
• Ability to present or train on technical topics
• Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drawing software is advantageous
• Desirable qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
