Director Commercial Operations

Overview

As Commercial Director (Defence), you will build and lead the defence commercial function to secure long-horizon revenue. You will own priority defence accounts, steer complex procurement processes, and engage with primes and integrators to drive paid evaluations and commercial agreements. Your role sits at the intersection of strategy, business development, and customer engagement, shaping how our battery cell capability supports defence and industrial growth. You will work closely with the CCO to translate market intelligence into actionable opportunities and negotiate long-term contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop 5–8 priority defence accounts
• Advance opportunities through complex procurement processes
• Map stakeholders and decision-makers
• Drive accounts toward paid evaluation and agreements
• Build relationships with defence primes and integrators
• Provide market intelligence
• Prepare accounts for negotiation

Key requirements

• 10+ years in defence or complex B2G/B2B environments
• Experience with MOD or defence primes
• Track record closing 1m+ deals
• Experience with RFIs, RFQs
• Ability to build relationships from scratch
