Overview

As Vice President, Commercial Strategy, you drive growth and market positioning for Parexel by leading strategic initiatives, market analysis, and bid pursuits. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape competitive messaging and winning strategies, accelerating revenue growth. This is a fast-paced, growth-oriented role with broad impact across the organization. You’ll contribute to Parexel’s market leadership and industry visibility while advancing commercial excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in bid triage discussions to assess fit and align pursuits with corporate goals
  • Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities
  • Coach bid teams on RFI/RFP opportunities to differentiate Parexel and win
  • Collaborate with sales, technical, and operations teams to define client requirements and strategy
  • Prepare bid teams for client interactions with strategic positioning
  • Capture and share learnings from wins and losses to improve outcomes
  • Monitor regulatory, policy, and tech trends affecting market position
  • Represent Parexel at industry events to stay informed and raise visibility
  • Lead or participate in initiatives to improve bid success rate and commercial effectiveness
  • Work with Sales Ops and business leaders on analysis of wins/losses and dissemination of insights
  • Develop training materials on commercial strategy and bid pursuit best practices

Key requirements

  • 15+ years in CRO industry with client management and senior sales/operational background
  • Proven experience leading global cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce; familiarity with proposal/presentation automation platforms
  • Strong commercial strategy messaging, data-driven methodologies, and negotiation skills
  • Deep knowledge of CRO industry, biopharma market, and Parexel offerings
  • General understanding of medical terminology and ICH/GCP
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
