Overview

In this role, you will provide expert guidance on employee relations matters and lead sensitive workplace investigations. You will partner with managers, HR, Legal and business stakeholders to ensure compliant, consistent handling of issues. You will analyse trends, shape policies, and mentor others to strengthen the employee relations capability. This is an impact role at a global financial services firm with a strong emphasis on integrity and risk-aware decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance to managers and HR on employee relations issues including counselling, disciplinary processes, performance concerns, grievances, and terminations
  • Lead and manage complex and sensitive employee relations investigations in collaboration with Legal
  • Interpret and advise on company policies and employment legislation
  • Identify risks and trends with business leaders and HR teams; implement proactive interventions
  • Support issue resolution through consultation, coaching, and problem solving
  • Develop recommendations to improve policies and practices based on investigations
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, Compliance, and stakeholders for consistent practices
  • Participate in HR and cross-functional projects to enhance employee experience and policy effectiveness
  • Analyze employee relations data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Mentor less experienced HR/ER professionals; lead initiatives as required
  • Handle highly sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Employee Relations, HR, Employment Law or related field
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, investigations, and HR policies
  • Experience conducting complex workplace investigations
  • Ability to provide balanced, risk-aware advice in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management abilities
