Overview
In this role you will lead and shape project planning for London infrastructure projects, delivering high-quality planning services within Currie & Brown’s cross-functional teams. You’ll drive schedule integrity, coordinate with clients and supply chains, and mentor a growing group of planners. Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and inspire a team to develop the next generation of planners
- Plan and evaluate construction projects to determine safest and most efficient delivery methods
- Build buy-in from stakeholders, including supply chains and subcontractors, to follow the plan
- Manage programmes to meet scope, time, and cost targets
- Monitor productivity, track progress, and validate site data through on-site involvement
- Make informed decisions to adjust plans as needed
- Foster a collaborative planning community across teams to enhance safety and quality impact
- Mentor Planners and provide guidance to leaders on planning practices
Key requirements
- Extensive planning experience in construction
- Proficiency with planning techniques and toolsets
- Understanding of tender documents, contracts, and specifications
- Experience with planning, programming, and progress monitoring methods
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to build relationships
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and support decision-making
- Degree or postgraduate level in construction or business-related field
- Approximately five years’ planner experience on projects typically >£20m
- Strong experience with Primavera P6 and MS Excel
- Experience in planning infrastructure projects in a live operational environment (desirable)
- Experience in quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and computer operations
- Understanding of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and startup processes
- Understanding of mathematical and financial reports
- Understanding of NEC contracts
