Overview
In this hands-on role, you will contribute across the full digital IC development lifecycle, from specification through pre-silicon validation and beyond. You’ll work on complex ASICs, review and refine RTL, run simulations, and write low-level code to exercise chip functionality. You’ll collaborate with design, software, and hardware engineers to define features for next-generation products and investigate issues across digital and mixed-signal areas. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role at a leading semiconductor company with meaningful scope and scope for cross-functional influence.
Responsibilities
- Review and develop RTL against technical specifications
- Run chip simulations and pre-silicon screening
- Write low-level code (Assembler) to exercise chip functionality
- Support the definition of new features for next-generation products
- Investigate issues across digital and mixed-signal areas
- Collaborate with engineers across design, software and hardware
Key requirements
- Strong understanding of digital ASIC design and RTL
- Experience with chip simulation and pre-silicon validation
- Experience with chip databases or similar design environments
- Low level programming experience (Assembler preferred)
- Ability to work from detailed technical specifications and investigate design issues
- Good understanding of digital systems at chip level
- Mixed signal IC experience beneficial but not essential
