Staff Engineer Full Stack – Energy Trading

Overview

In this Staff Engineer role you will own technical direction while remaining hands-on across the full stack. You’ll work in a product-led team to translate customer needs into scalable technical solutions using TypeScript, Node.js, React and AWS. You’ll collaborate across multiple teams to shape both architecture and product priorities, and help steer a modern engineering environment with AI-assisted development. This is a high-impact, platform-focused opportunity at a scaling fintech with real-time energy trading capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical ownership and key architectural decisions for the platform
• Collaborate across multiple teams to shape technical and product directions
• Hands-on development across the full software lifecycle (design, implementation, testing, deployment)
• Operate with a distributed, scalable systems mindset
• Evaluate and own AI-generated code (Claude Code) within the workflow
• Contribute to product discussions with technical insights and customer understanding
• Maintain alignment with the product-led mission and customer problems

Key requirements

• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React and AWS
• Hands-on at Staff Engineer level with ownership of technical decisions
• Product-minded with commercial awareness and customer focus
• Solid understanding of distributed, scalable, complex systems
• Experience with AI-assisted development and evaluating AI outputs (Claude Code)
• Collaborative with excellent communication skills
• UK-based with the right to work
