Overview
In this role you will lead technical management and specialist input across projects in Stantec’s Ground Assessment Team, supporting major UK water infrastructure programmes. You’ll characterise materials and manage contaminated sites to help deliver resilient, sustainable projects for regional clients. You will work closely with design teams and partners in a multidisciplinary, growth-focused environment. Responsibilities
- Provide technical management and specialist input across project lifecycles
- Characterise materials and manage contaminated sites to support infrastructure projects
- Support design teams and contracting partners with expert guidance
- Contribute to risk assessment, remediation strategies, and reporting
- Engage in client relationship development and stakeholder networking
- Optionally take on team management and business support responsibilities
- Align project delivery with sustainability and nature-positive outcomes
Key requirements
- Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related Earth Sciences
- Chartered member of a relevant institution (e.g., GSL CGeol, CEnv, CIWEM)
- Strong experience in land quality evaluation and contaminated site management in the UK
- Deep understanding of current UK legislation and technical reporting
- Proven track record in risk assessment and remediation strategy
- Favorable: SiLC, SQP, or CL:AIRE DoW CoP QP certifications
