Senior Payroll Specialist

Overview

As Senior Payroll Specialist, you will join a high-performing payroll team to deliver accurate payroll for approximately 2,000 employees. You’ll own end-to-end payroll processing and manage statutory deductions, starters and leavers, and payroll queries. The role supports payroll-related projects and works closely with stakeholders to ensure a first-class service. This is a permanent, hybrid role in a well-known retail brand offering excellent benefits and an urgent start date.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for ~2,000 employees
• Administering statutory deductions (SMP, SSP, SPP, NI, PAYE)
• Producing P60s and P45s
• Managing starter and leaver paperwork
• Resolving payroll queries via phone, email, and face-to-face
• Supporting payroll-related projects
• Collaborating with payroll team to deliver a high-quality service

Key requirements

• Payroll experience in a corporate setting
• Knowledge of statutory deductions and associated forms
• Experience handling starter and leaver processes
• Strong communication to resolve queries and support stakeholders
• Ability to start quickly (ASAP)
• Experience in a team-oriented payroll environment
