Infrastructure Architect

Overview

As an Infrastructure Architect, you will shape and evolve the technology landscape for a global organisation. You will define architecture principles, standards and roadmaps, focusing on Azure and Microsoft 365 across hybrid environments. You’ll lead governance, security, and resilience while guiding large transformation programmes and automation efforts. This role offers enterprise-wide impact, collaboration with senior tech leaders, and exposure to AI-enabled infrastructure initiatives. You will drive cloud strategy, FinOps, and platform modernisation to enable engineering teams and secure scalable, innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define infrastructure architecture, principles, and roadmaps
• Shape Azure and Microsoft 365 strategy across a global environment
• Lead architecture for hybrid cloud, identity, security and resilience
• Support large-scale migration and modernisation programmes
• Drive Infrastructure as Code, automation and platform engineering best practices
• Provide architectural governance across cloud and on-premises platforms
• Influence AI-enabled infrastructure and emerging Microsoft technologies
• Contribute to cloud cost optimisation (FinOps) and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with engineering, cyber security and enterprise applications teams to deliver scalable platforms

Key requirements

• Enterprise infrastructure architecture experience in complex organisations
• Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 experience
• Hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• Identity and access management (Entra ID / Azure AD)
• Infrastructure governance, standards and architectural assurance
• Cloud migration and transformation programmes
• Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Bicep or ARM
• Business continuity and disaster recovery planning
• Experience with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform is a plus
• Professional certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, FinOps) welcomed but not essential
