Overview

As Lead Product Designer at Motorway, you shape a high-scale design practice and set the standard for craft across the product ecosystem. You own complex, ambiguous problems from discovery to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional partners to align design with business goals. You’ll pioneer the use of AI in design while keeping human judgment and craft central to the process. You’ll mentor designers, drive a vibrant design culture, and help scale both product and team as the company grows.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality design deliverables for mobile and web (flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mocks) with accessibility at the core
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data analysts to connect user insights to business goals
  • Establish strong stakeholder relationships and communicate design decisions confidently across the organisation
  • Mentor junior and senior designers to foster growth and excellence
  • Foster a strong design culture through rituals, workshops, events, and inclusive participation
  • Champion continuous improvement by developing core design principles and keeping the team updated on tools and patterns

Key requirements

  • Senior or Lead Product Designer with successful digital product shipping across web and mobile
  • Hands-on experience shipping code, building products, or prototyping tools
  • Experience across B2C and B2B journeys
  • Strategic use of AI in design and ability to guide a team through AI adoption
  • Commercial acumen and ability to tie design work to business outcomes
  • Proficiency with design/prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Claude, Kiro) and user-centered design methodologies
  • Strong research, usability testing, and data-informed decision-making
  • Bonus: experience optimizing journeys via experimentation or working in a fast-paced two-sided marketplace
