Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse reinforced concrete structures for nuclear facilities and related infrastructure
  • Perform structural calculations and modelling to ensure compliance with design codes and safety requirements
  • Design and analyse reinforced concrete for EPR nuclear plants per Eurocodes and ETC-C
  • Support design changes by assessing impacts and proposing engineering solutions
  • Ensure structural integrity under varied loading conditions (seismic, dynamic, environmental, temporary sequences)
  • Assess and manage design changes, proposing appropriate modifications
  • Provide technical support during construction, including site assessments and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with construction contractors, site teams, clients, principal designers and regulators to ensure nuclear safety and CDM compliance

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in structural design of reinforced concrete
  • Experience in nuclear, energy or other highly regulated industries
  • Solid understanding of Eurocodes and nuclear-related design standards
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
  • Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance (BPSS minimum)
