Overview
As a UK Space & Defence Business Development Manager, you will shape GMV’s strategy and growth in UK government and defence space programmes. You will identify, pursue, and secure opportunities across space infrastructure, operations, and downstream services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with national strategies. You’ll engage with industry bodies and public institutions to promote GMV’s capabilities and expand commercial prospects. This role offers meaningful impact by supporting national space missions and enabling new markets in the UK.

Responsibilities
- Define, develop and implement the GMV strategy within UK government/defence space programmes and related customers
- Contribute to GMV UK strategic plan in connection with government/defence programmes
- Identify and secure significant GMV roles in space infrastructure, new technologies, services, terminals and user applications
- Assess opportunities based on make-or-buy, maintenance/operations, and evolution needs for UK programmes
- Leverage GMV UK participation to develop downstream markets and expand into other government departments and commercial sectors
- Represent GMV in UK institutions and multinational organisations
- Participate in UK industry events and promote GMV in government, defence and industry meetings/committees
- Request advice and support from GMV Business Units, senior management and corporate services
- Promote GMV’s reputation within UK government and defence circles
Key requirements
- Knowledge of the UK space sector, players, programmes, pipelines and roadmaps
- Experience with UK government/defence projects and procurement requirements
- Proven track record in bids and tender management within UK Government/Defence programmes
- UK national with the ability to obtain or hold security clearance (SC or above)
- Previous stakeholder engagement across government, industry and international bodies
