Overview

As a Principal Technical Consultant at KBR Consulting, you provide high-value advisory across asset integrity, life extension and asset management for operating assets. You lead technical assessments, guide risk-based decisions and help clients optimise reliability and performance across the asset lifecycle. You work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor others, and contribute to business growth through proposals and client engagements. This role combines hands-on engineering input with strategic, client-facing leadership in a global context.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical authority on asset integrity management for brownfield facilities and equipment
  • Lead or oversee life extension evaluations and mechanical integrity programs
  • Conduct RBI, IOW/CCD development and damage mechanism control activities
  • Perform RAM, FFS (API 579) and FEA-assisted evaluations; support fire damage assessments
  • Develop high-quality deliverables (reports, models, decision materials) and present to clients
  • Engage with clients at technical and executive levels; support four asset management pillars across integrity, risk, reliability and process optimisation
  • Support sales through proposals, technical inputs and client workshops
  • Mentor less-experienced engineers and develop internal methodologies and tools
  • Contribute to consistent improvement of asset management processes and governance
  • Assist with project management, scope definition, budgeting and risk management
  • Collaborate across KBR’s global organisation and engage in business development activities with potential clients

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in asset integrity management and life extension in industrial/O&G environments
  • Strong background in feasibility/front-end consulting with delivery focus
  • Experience with technical due diligence or lender’s engineer roles (advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments and meet tight schedules
  • Willingness to travel up to ~30%
  • Existing client relationships in relevant expertise areas (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences (Board to Technician)
