Overview
In this role you drive the strategic and operational delivery of Tes Institute’s teacher training and professional development programmes. You lead a portfolio growth agenda, ensure high-quality, compliant delivery, and develop programme leaders to improve learner outcomes. You will act as an external expert, shaping thought leadership and aligning offerings with market needs and regulatory requirements. This is a high-impact, senior leadership role within a global education technology organisation that values quality and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and operational delivery of Tes Institute’s teacher training and development programmes
- Drive growth and evolution of the programme portfolio to meet learner needs and regulatory requirements
- Manage Heads of Programme Delivery to ensure quality, compliance and outcomes
- Coordinate across programmes for consistency and efficient use of skills
- Identify capacity needs and develop team capability
- Develop and nurture programme leadership and succession planning
- Engage with external stakeholders (Ofsted, international bodies, DfE governance) to ensure accountability
- Represent Tes Institute externally to build credibility and influence in teacher training
- Collaborate with wider Tes functions to ensure compliant delivery across stages
- Provide expertise to Director of Institute and Head of Institute Sales & Marketing on relationships and growth opportunities
- Serve as Level 3 safeguarding lead within the safeguarding team
Key requirements
- Substantial education leadership experience with strategic and operational oversight of teaching, learning, curriculum and delivery
- Proven ability to operate at a strategic level as a collaborative senior team member
- Significant experience delivering and managing teacher training and development programmes
- Experience leading through external inspections by regulatory bodies (Ofsted)
- Experience managing and developing teams with coaching and influencing capabilities
- Experience leading strategic programme growth aligned with organisational and commercial objectives
- Experience acting as an external representative or thought leader in education
- Experience managing educational programme delivery via blended methods
- Deep understanding of developments in teacher training and international needs
- Understanding routes into teaching and professional development beyond initial training
