Overview

In this role you will own global sales compensation operations, ensuring accurate, governed, and financially sound commission payments. You’ll lead modeling, stress testing, and monthly payout cycles while upholding SOX controls and audit readiness. You will partner across Sales, Finance, Payroll, Legal, People Partners, and Compliance to keep compensation scalable and transparent. Your work will directly support seller trust, expense predictability, and regulatory compliance in a high‑impact, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end validation and final sign-off for global commission payroll processing
  • Model and stress-test payout scenarios to forecast spend and assess plan changes
  • Analyze plan effectiveness and collaborate with Sales leadership on optimization and target-setting
  • Evaluate and approve high-value or non-standard payments and executive incentives
  • Oversee SOX controls, audit documentation, and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, security, and compensation deviations
  • Resolve disputes in collaboration with Legal, People Partners, and Payroll
  • Translate complex crediting rules and payout outcomes into clear guidance for stakeholders

Key requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in sales compensation operations, finance governance, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of complex sales compensation mechanics (quotas, accelerators, caps, crediting rules, draws, clawbacks)
  • Experience with enterprise calculation platforms (Xactly, Varicent, Anaplan, SAP Commissions) and data modeling
  • Advanced Excel, data modeling, and scripting skills (VBA, Python/Pandas)
  • Knowledge of risk management, controls, and SOX/ICFR
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven, high-pressure payroll cycle and maintain accuracy
