Data Scientist II, HEP Analytics

Overview

In this role, you’ll turn large hotel-partner data into actionable insights that drive margins, supply quality, and decision-making. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to build scalable analytics products and datasets, informing partner discussions and business strategy. You’ll apply statistics and experimentation to uncover opportunities and present clear recommendations. This role offers impact at scale in a dynamic travel marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Frame business questions as analytical problems and plan practical approaches
• Analyze data from multiple sources using SQL and Python/R to produce reliable datasets and reusable code
• Develop data-driven insights to support partner discussions and commercial decisions
• Apply descriptive statistics, regression, experimentation, and causal analysis; explain assumptions and limitations
• Create dashboards, visualizations, and executive summaries for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with analytics, product, data, engineering, and commercial partners; share knowledge and seek feedback
• Leverage AI productivity tools to enhance analysis depth and speed
• Build scalable reporting and insight solutions for a global travel marketplace

Key requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience with a technical degree or equivalent
• Experience using SQL and Python/R to analyze, transform, and visualize large datasets
• Ability to combine data from multiple sources and create data pipelines or reusable code
• Knowledge of probability, descriptive statistics, regression, and experiment designs (A/B tests, pre/post analysis, causal impact)
• Ability to explain analytical methods and findings to audiences up to Senior Manager level
