Overview

In this role you will contribute to the structural design and analysis of building and civil projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver concepts through construction. You will apply engineering principles to multiple materials and produce calculations, drawings, and reports that meet high quality and safety standards. You will engage with clients, coordinate with technicians, and participate in site visits as needed, contributing to projects delivered under NEC contracts. Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality design work under supervision while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to project delivery from concept to construction
  • Apply engineering principles to concrete, steel, masonry, and timber
  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and design reports
  • Manage project tasks, coordinate with technicians, translate designs into construction drawings, and attend site visits
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders with clear communication throughout the programme
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental standards and CPD
  • Work across the full project delivery process including NEC Contracts

Key requirements

  • Honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Experience in a design office environment
  • Working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE
  • Proficiency in structural design software (CADS, Tekla, SCIA, STRAP, TEDDS, Fastrack, AutoCAD, REVIT)
  • Good knowledge of UK design codes and standards
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • Strong verbal and written communication
