Security Vetting Officer

Overview

You will own National Security Vetting (NSV) decisions and BPSS-related aftercare to ensure Arcadis has the right resources with the correct clearance. Working within a supportive Security team, you’ll assess eligibility, sponsor NSV applications, and manage complex risk cases across diverse projects. Your role combines vetting expertise with strong communication to coordinate with UKSV, new starters, and client teams. This position offers hybrid working and a clear path for professional development. You’ll contribute to secure staffing and compliance across the business.

Responsibilities

• Act as key internal and external vetting contact for clearance delivery to senior managers and clients
• Identify potential vetting risks and complex cases
• Sponsor NSV applications and clearance aftercare via UKSV portal
• Assess eligibility for relevant NSV levels and refresh BPSS as needed
• Complete VSIs via the UKSV portal
• Coordinate sponsorships, transfers, shares, cancellations, and lapses of NSV clearances
• Deliver BPSS screening using internal and third-party solutions
• Perform gap analyses against Arcadis BPSS and liaise with candidates for missing information
• Flag complex or ineligible cases to the Personnel Security Manager
• Ensure secure electronic processing and storage of sensitive data
• Maintain Arcadis Vetting Database and SharePoint confidentiality, availability, and integrity
• Manage the Arcadis Vetting shared mailbox for vetting inquiries

Key requirements

• Experience as a Vetting Officer handling NSV with solid knowledge of NSV requirements
• Proven NSV vetting process experience
• Defence sector experience; nuclear experience advantageous
• Ability to work remotely within a team and manage caseloads to deadlines
• Excellent communication across all business levels with candidates, UKSV, and client teams
• NSV Level – valid SC Clearance
