Senior Program Manager, VAT Account Health

Overview

In this role you will drive global VAT account health initiatives by leading cross-functional programs across multiple regions. You’ll align Tax, Accounting, Finance Operations, and FinTech to deliver data-driven improvements and measurable outcomes. You operate with autonomy, navigate competing priorities, and shape governance and SOPs that empower 100+ stakeholders. This position offers high-impact work across global teams, accelerating decision-making and reducing risks. You’ll join a mission-driven unit focused on standardizing processes and strengthening controllership.

Responsibilities

• Lead global programs to improve indirect tax account health with VP-level goals and KPI frameworks
• Coordinate cross-functional working groups across Accounting, Indirect Tax Compliance, Finance Operations, Global Tax Data Services, and FinTech
• Develop and implement standardized operating procedures for VAT account management across global teams
• Establish governance structures to clarify accountability and speed up decisions
• Identify and communicate organizational risks to senior leadership with actionable recommendations
• Align competing priorities across time zones and business units through influence and escalation
• Create data-driven reporting and dashboards for leadership decisions
• Perform root-cause analysis of reconciling items and implement scalable fixes
• Establish program mechanisms (weekly updates, leadership reviews, forums) to maintain engagement and visibility
• Manage transitions and stabilization efforts by diagnosing friction points and applying practical solutions

Key requirements

• Experience owning program strategy and end-to-end delivery with results presented to senior leadership
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
• Knowledge of general AI tools
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
• 5+ years of program management experience
• Preferred: professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
• Experience in driving process and tool improvements
• Experience leading cross-functional teams
• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
