Overview
In this role you will lead and direct mechanical design teams within the water sector, ensuring delivery to high design and quality standards. You will shape briefs, scopes, and bid inputs, while managing time and budgets to critical milestones. You will collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated solutions and set design QA standards. You will grow and lead mechanical engineering capability across the practice, driving professional excellence and client value.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct mechanical design teams to high-quality standards
- Define briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals
- Manage project timeframes and budgets to meet milestones
- Collaborate with UK and overseas teams for integrated design solutions
- Set and enforce quality assurance standards in design
- Grow, develop and manage mechanical engineering capability within the practice
- Own design delivery across multidisciplinary projects
Key requirements
- Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer
- Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent
- Significant experience in Mechanical Engineering within the Water Sector
- Experience owning design delivery including multidisciplinary design
- Deep knowledge of mechanical equipment (pumps, blowers, screens, chemical dosing) and UK design standards and practices
