Overview

In this role you will shape strategic external manufacturing partnerships for large-molecule biologics, lead complex sourcing and negotiations, and ensure reliable supply for drug substance and drug product. You will manage external partners across R&D, quality, and manufacturing functions to optimize value, quality, and risk. The role combines hands-on sourcing with strategic influence in a fast-moving biologics environment. This is an opportunity to shape a critical supply network within a global procurement function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end category and sourcing strategies for outsourced large-molecule manufacturing services
  • Run complex sourcing activities and negotiate contracts (MSAs, SOWs, pricing, capacity agreements)
  • Manage strategic relationships with CDMOs and other external partners
  • Collaborate across Procurement, External Manufacturing Operations, R&D, Technical, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Legal
  • Support new product introductions, technology transfers, capacity expansion, supplier transitions and continuity initiatives
  • Balance value, quality, service, resilience, innovation and risk in supplier decisions

Key requirements

  • Degree in business, supply chain, engineering, life sciences or related discipline or equivalent expertise
  • Strong direct procurement experience including category strategy, sourcing and contract negotiation
  • Experience leading complex, high-value sourcing activities and negotiating strategies
  • Commercial, analytical and stakeholder-management skills with global matrix influence
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare or related manufacturing environment
  • Results-focused with ability to deliver in a demanding portfolio with limited day-to-day direction
