Overview
As Electronics Engineer you contribute to the design, maintenance and integration of analogue, digital, and computer-based safety systems. You will collaborate with customers to agree optimal, cost-effective solutions and support the full lifecycle from requirements through to installation and commissioning. The role sits within a team delivering safety-critical engineering for demanding, regulated environments. You will produce technical analyses and reports to guide replacement or refurbishment decisions, shaping outcomes for mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Support customer discussions to agree optimal solutions in terms of cost, timescale and ease of implementation
- Help establish customer solutions and detailed requirements
- Analyze existing equipment to determine replacement or refurbishment needs
- Liaise with suppliers regarding third-party equipment support
- Carry out design and development work within your area of competence
- Support installation and commissioning of equipment on customer sites
- Present a professional engineering approach to maintain strong customer relationships
- Strengthen the team’s engineering capabilities and personal development in safety systems and instrumentation
- Develop personal capability across safety systems and instrumentation areas
- Produce technical reports clearly identifying preferred actions after legacy design analysis
Key requirements
- Security: sole British National
- Experience in electronic/electrical equipment design or maintenance, preferably in a regulated industry
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or demonstrable industry experience
- Ability in electrical work and/or analogue/digital electronics using conventional logic families and programmable logic
- Technical qualifications in electrical or electronic design or instrumentation and control
- DOORS knowledge an advantage
