Overview
In this role you support pricing, commercial decision-making and risk assessment across bids and live projects within the Commercial team. You will collaborate with business development and project management to inform pricing models, budgets and commercial strategies. Depending on grade, you take on more senior guidance, advisory, and quality assurance responsibilities to enhance tools, processes and team capability. This is a hybrid London-based role with a clear impact on bid success and project profitability. You join a focused team reporting to the Senior Director Operations and contributing to the commercial performance centre.

Responsibilities
- Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to inform bid pricing and decisions.
- Advise bid teams on commercial considerations, including risk and financial implications.
- Develop routine and complex pricing models for bids.
- Contribute to commercial strategies for bids, considering scoring incentives and cost guidelines.
- Conduct QA reviews of pricing models and bid pro formas for accuracy, compliance and feasibility.
- Support capacity building within the Commercial team and with related functions.
- Assist project management with budgets and margins, including budgeting for new phases.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and provide analysis to support negotiations.
- Suggest and implement process improvements in commercial management and bid pricing.
Key requirements
- Relevant professional experience and degree in Economics, Maths, Finance, or Business Administration (related field).
- Demonstrated experience in developing or managing budgets (required for Commercial Specialist).
- Analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Professional MS Office skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously within a decentralized team and handle confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences.
- Ability to build relationships with staff and external clients, and to adapt to different time zones.
- Willingness to travel to countries where DAI operates.
