Commodities Controller

Overview

In this role you support the London Product Control team with daily and monthly accounting for StoneX Financial Ltd and global entities. You will manage cross‑product P&L, reconciliation of trading systems to ledgers, and month‑end processes to strengthen controls. You’ll work on growth initiatives across Precious Metals, LME, FXPB and OTC businesses and contribute to process standardization. This position offers visibility across multiple markets and a path to broaden financial control expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support daily P&L production for Precious Metals, LME, FXPB and OTC businesses globally
• Reconcile trading systems to accounting ledgers for revenue and client balances
• Perform monthly accounting and reporting activities
• Validate and reconcile monthly results and post month-end adjustments
• Assist with implementation and integration of control enhancements
• Contribute to cross-product standardization initiatives
• Handle new and existing trade validation and reporting
• Balance sheet analysis and substantiation
• Update month-end reporting in BlackLine
• Assist with trading and accounting system migrations
• Provide cover for wider team
• Respond to audit inquiries

Key requirements

• 5+ years in Product Control / Financial Control in Financial Services
• UK or overseas Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent or qualified by experience
• Experience in daily P&L accounting for commodity derivatives, physicals (LME, Precious Metals) and FXPB
• Experience in regulated environments with SOX controls
• Strong knowledge of derivatives and other financial instruments
• Solid general ledger and balance sheet experience
• Experience with process improvements and P&L explanations
• Able to meet strict deadlines
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Proficient MS Excel (advanced) including database/SQL queries; experience with AI adoption
