Overview

In this role you will drive cost control and commercial performance on public sector refurbishment projects, reporting to the Commercial Director. You will also support estimating, tender pricing, and CVR reporting, shaping financial outcomes across housing, education, and healthcare schemes. The position sits within a reputable South East London contractor known for complex refurbishments and public sector frameworks. You help ensure profitable delivery on projects typically valued from 500k to 5m, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver community-focused construction solutions.

Responsibilities

• manage cost control across refurbishment projects
• handle procurement, valuations and final accounts
• support estimating duties including tender preparation and pricing
• prepare and report monthly CVR
• work across public and private sector refurbishment schemes
• negotiation and commercial decision-making on schemes
• ensure financial governance and reporting for schemes up to 5m

Key requirements

• experience as a senior quantity surveyor or surveyor within a main contractor
• able to manage own schemes commercially from estimating to final account
• experience creating and reporting monthly CVR
• background across refurbishment projects in public and private sectors
