Overview
In this role you will lead and technically supervise MEICA projects within the Specialist Projects portfolio as part of Yorkshire Water’s Asset Delivery. You’ll drive safe, compliant design and delivery, acting as Principal Contractor and supporting Client/Principal Designer duties under CDM. You’ll balance technical excellence with financial and commercial awareness to optimise the Capital Construction Programme. The position offers hybrid working, regular site travel, and a strong focus on safety, collaboration, and delivering high-value outcomes for customers and communities.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical supervision and line management of a team of Project Technicians
- Coordinate the design and safe delivery of MEICA projects within the Specialist Projects portfolio
- Ensure project delivery complies with CDM regulations, undertaking Principal Contractor role and supporting Client & Principal Designer
- Adhere to Yorkshire Water engineering specifications and documentation
- Drive high standards in health and safety, risk management and control of work to meet safety policy
- Maintain robust financial management and commercial awareness in decision-making
Key requirements
- Electrical-based apprenticeship or Engineering degree or equivalent / ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
- Understands control of works – Permits, POWRA, RAMS etc
- Broad experience with electrical equipment and ability to devise engineered solutions
- Understanding of CDM regulations and practical application
- Knowledge of design and project delivery processes including hazard identification, risk assessment and site supervision
- Ability to respond to a wide range of technical and non-technical queries
