Overview

In this role you support payroll compliance operations for the region, addressing tax queries, and guiding cross-functional teams on local requirements. You will research and document country-specific regulations and help expand Deel’s footprint while ensuring timely compliance. You’ll work with internal and external partners to maintain accurate documentation and elevate compliance awareness. Responsibilities

  • Document country-specific payroll compliance requirements with the team
  • Research local tax laws to support expansion projects
  • Maintain country-specific payroll knowledge bases and compliance blueprints
  • Provide guidance on payroll tax queries and compliance matters
  • Investigate client escalations, identify root causes, and propose solutions
  • Draft and review compliance documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to disseminate compliance information
  • Educate product and development teams on country-specific payroll requirements
  • Support development of legislative specifications for multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide insights to ensure ongoing compliance awareness and upskilling
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance activities

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field or equivalent compliance certification
  • 4+ years of UK payroll rules and legislation experience with emphasis on benefits and pensions
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, HR policies, and multi-jurisdictional compliance frameworks
  • Proven ability to lead complex payroll compliance projects with cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on payroll processing experience is a strong asset
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Scrum/Agile methodologies for task management
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement
