Senior Design Manager

Overview

In this role, you lead or support the design management of complex data centre projects within a sustainability-focused team. You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, drive design reviews, and engage clients to ensure successful outcomes. You contribute to process improvements and mentor the next generation of designers. This role offers exposure to high-profile projects and a clear path to leadership, supporting Cundall’s zero-carbon design ambition.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design management for large-scale data centre projects
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage deliverables
• Drive project meetings, workshops, and design reviews
• Engage with clients to manage expectations and secure outcomes
• Support commercial, programme, and risk management activities
• Contribute to consistency and improvement of design management processes
• Mentor and develop the team and engage with clients

Key requirements

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related technical discipline
• Significant experience delivering complex multidisciplinary construction projects, ideally in data centres or mission-critical environments
• Strong understanding of MEP-led coordination and organizational skills
• Confident communication and stakeholder management
• Knowledge of project delivery, design processes, and risk management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• (Associate level) Leadership, client development, and mentoring experience
