Analyst – Sponsors – London

Overview

In this role you support Moelis’ European Financial Sponsors franchise by helping develop sponsor relationships, identify opportunities, and coordinate activity across the European platform. You’ll blend analytics, market intelligence, and process management to gain exposure to private equity clients and sponsor-led origination. You work with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality materials and insights, growing your client-facing experience over time. This is an opportunity to shape sponsor coverage in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and advance toward greater client exposure.

Responsibilities

• Identify and track sponsor-related opportunities across sectors, geographies and deal types
• Prepare sponsor materials, including credentials, meeting packs, market updates and portfolio analyses
• Conduct research on financial sponsors, portfolio companies and transaction activity
• Maintain internal coverage infrastructure, including relationship data and analytics
• Coordinate with sponsor coverage, industry and product teams for consistent relationship management
• Support sponsor meetings and client interactions with increasing external exposure
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of analytical outputs and internal documentation

Key requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or an accounting firm
• ACA (or equivalent) qualified candidates considered
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of valuation concepts
• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Interest in building relationships within the financial sponsor community
• Exposure to private equity clients or sponsor-backed businesses advantageous
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
