Overview

In this role you lead a HVAC service team to maintain and service complex liquid chillers at a prestigious site. You will drive high standards in safety, client communication, and timely reporting while supporting continuous improvement. The position sits at the intersection of operations, safety, and customer service, offering hands-on leadership in a critical facility. You’ll shape service delivery, coordinate resources, and contribute to a safety-first culture in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of HVAC technicians to service and maintain complex liquid chillers (centrifugal, screw, magnetic bearing)
  • Ensure client KPIs and timelines are met through effective supervision
  • Maintain high communication with the client via site administrator; prioritise breakdowns and repairs
  • Own and issue plant maintenance and service reports in a timely manner
  • Resource additional technicians from the mobile team and collaborate with other JCI line managers
  • Manage out-of-hours site rota and ensure EHS adherence at all times
  • Issue RAMS, manage COSHH data, and run regular EHS meetings
  • Oversee site tools and equipment, including PAT testing and tool calibration recording
  • Ensure SC clearance prior to start date and maintain site access requirements

Key requirements

  • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Level 3 (or higher)
  • Refrigerant Handling Certification (2079)
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS, RAMS, and COSHH protocols; IOSH qualification preferred; First Aid at Work
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • Technical experience with large tonnage chiller systems (refrigeration & air conditioning)
  • Experience on nuclear manufacturing sites is highly desirable
  • Experience leading a team to meet client KPIs and safety standards
  • Access to IT systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital platforms
