In this role you will lead corporate tax compliance and advisory work for a UK portfolio of clients within a Top 20 accountancy practice. You will shape tax strategies, manage complex filings, and guide senior stakeholders, delivering high-quality, compliant solutions. The position combines technical leadership with team mentoring and business development support. You will work closely with cross‑functional client teams to drive value and risk mitigation. This is a high-impact, client‑facing role in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end corporate tax compliance for mid-large UK clients (CT600s, tax computations, schedules)
- Provide strategic tax advisory on restructurings, M&A, group reorganisations, and international planning
- Mentor and manage junior team members to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Conduct tax calculations including deferred tax, capital allowances, R&D credits, loss utilisation with HMRC compliance
- Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation (master/local files) per OECD guidelines
- Collaborate with clients’ finance/legal teams to assess tax impact of business decisions and support board reporting
- Identify and mitigate tax risks, proposing corrective actions
- Stay updated with tax legislation, HMRC guidance, and case law to maintain technical leadership
- Support business development through proposals, client presentations, and thought leadership
- Uphold firm quality controls and professional ethics across engagements
Key requirements
- Professional qualification in ACCA, CTA, ACA, or equivalent Chartered Certified Accountant
- Experience in corporate tax within top-tier firm or in-house
- Expertise in UK corporate tax including CT, CGT, and transfer pricing
- Proven track record managing complex compliance and advisory projects
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in tax software (CaseWare, TaxCalc, Thomson Reuters) and advanced Excel
- Leadership and team management experience
