Overview
In this role you lead the Privacy Operations function within Keywords Studios, driving the Global Privacy & AI Governance program across 70+ studios in 25+ countries. You will mentor the Privacy Manager and Senior Privacy Analyst while partnering with Legal, IT, and Security to uphold data protection and responsible AI practices. You may act as a registered DPO in certain jurisdictions and have flexibility to work remotely from the UK or EU. Your work enables secure, compliant delivery across global service lines and senior stakeholder collaboration. This is a high-impact role that shapes governance, risk, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Lead the Global Privacy & AI Governance Framework implementation and deputise for the Global Head as needed
- Line manage and mentor the Privacy Operations team, overseeing intake triage, SLAs, and workflow efficiency
- Oversee Privacy by Design and AI in products, services, and external tooling; drive DPIAs, AI Impact Assessments, and software intake reviews
- Embed privacy and ethical AI guardrails across service lines and internal workflows
- Execute Transfer Impact Assessments and Legitimate Interest Assessments to support lawful data transfers
- Provide risk-based recommendations; manage day-to-day privacy and AI inquiries
- Manage data subject requests and data incidents, leading containment, investigation, remediation, and mitigation
- Monitor regulatory horizon, perform gap analyses, and respond to consultations
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, AI Strategy, and Information Security to align privacy/AI practices
- Build relationships with C-suite and business leaders; drive awareness and education on privacy/AI
Key requirements
- At least 7 years’ experience in privacy management
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Experience mentoring junior team members
- Strong delivery focus with risk-based decision making
- IAPP qualifications (CIPP/E, CIPM, AIGP) are a bonus
- Extensive knowledge of GDPR and global privacy regulations
- Developing knowledge of EU AI Act and global AI regulations; understanding of how AI systems/LLMs operate
- Experience liaising with C-level stakeholders
- Experience working on cross-functional projects
- Hands-on expertise with privacy management and practical recommendations
- Willingness to travel, if required
