Overview

In this Senior Manager role, you lead complex transaction tax advisory for energy and natural resources clients, collaborating with Partners and Directors to deliver strategic advice. You’ll shape deal-related tax conclusions, support business development, and mentor teams across UK and international engagements. The role blends technical tax leadership with cross-border collaboration and client relationship management. Your work helps clients navigate UK and OECD developments and optimize deal outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Partners/Directors on complex transactions to provide high-quality advisory
  • Support business development through proposals and pitches
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Serve as primary KPMG contact for clients, legal advisers, and internal teams
  • Coach and develop colleagues, fostering continuous learning
  • Prepare/oversee detailed technical advice on UK and international tax issues
  • Analyze tax-related documents/data and articulate commercial impact
  • Coordinate with UK/overseas tax specialists and challenge inputs
  • Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of UK and OECD developments
  • Understand financial models from a tax perspective
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives

Key requirements

  • Qualified CTA or ACA/ CA or equivalent
  • Ambitious and engaged with deal work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Relevant sector experience in energy/natural resources
  • Strong UK corporate tax knowledge; awareness of other tax and accounting matters
  • Strong analytical skills with a commercial problem-solving approach
