Overview
In this Governance Manager role you lead governance, quality assurance, patient safety, risk management and compliance across NPC. You partner with senior leaders and practice teams to strengthen regulatory readiness and drive learning-based improvements. You will shape governance and quality strategy, support CQC readiness, and deliver reporting to senior management and the Board. Responsibilities
- Lead governance, quality, patient safety and compliance programmes across NPC
- Manage the organisational risk register and governance work programme
- Support CQC assessments, inspections and ongoing regulatory compliance
- Oversee incident, complaint, audit and assurance processes
- Produce high-quality reports and assurance information for senior management and Board meetings
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and embed learning from incidents and feedback
- Provide expert advice on governance, risk management and patient safety
- Support and develop a culture of continuous improvement through training, coaching and leadership
Key requirements
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Qualification or significant training in governance, quality improvement, project management, healthcare management or risk management
- Desirable: Master’s or postgraduate qualification; QA in quality improvement (PRINCE2, Lean, Six Sigma) or risk management qualification
- Significant NHS governance/quality/risk management experience
- Experience with Primary Care, Community Services, NHS Provider or ICB environments
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections and compliance
- Experience managing incidents, complaints, audits and risk registers
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives
- Experience producing Board and Committee reports
- Desirable: experience supporting CQC inspections, Primary Care Networks, PSIRF, committee management, coaching/mentoring, cultural change
