As a Design Manager, you lead the design process across a range of multi-sector projects in Yorkshire, aligning design with cost plans and project goals. You will coordinate consultants, drive collaborative design programmes, and deliver innovative, cost-conscious technical solutions. You’ll chair design meetings, track regulatory approvals, and ensure outputs meet quality and budget expectations. Responsibilities

• Lead the design process to deliver accurate information aligned with specifications and cost plans
• Manage appointment and performance of consultants within their scope
• Develop design programmes with consultants to meet milestones
• Deliver cost-effective, innovative technical solutions
• Chair design team meetings and drive action plans to completion
• Ensure designs meet statutory/regulatory approvals with thorough documentation and tracking

Key requirements

• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience in developing and managing construction design programmes
• Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements related to construction design
• Ability to produce cost-effective and creative technical solutions
• Preconstruction experience (highly desirable)
