Overview

As an HSE Advisor you will drive a proactive health, safety and environment culture on-site at the Stoke Gifford depot, partnering with operations to improve standards and embed HSE practices. You will own risk assessments, incidents, audits and training, shaping day-to-day safety and environmental performance. The role offers hands-on influence, with opportunities to mentor teams and deputise for the HSE Manager. You’ll contribute to sustainable engineering excellence within a global, innovation-minded company.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a proactive HSE culture across the depot
  • Develop, implement and maintain HSE systems and procedures
  • Lead risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions
  • Deliver HSE training, briefings and toolbox talks
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours
  • Manage environmental compliance, waste, pollution control and sustainability initiatives
  • Support internal audits and maintain legal/compliance registers
  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers, engineers and external stakeholders
  • Deputise for the HSE Manager when required

Key requirements

  • Experience in HSE within engineering, manufacturing or similar complex environment
  • NEBOSH Certificate and a relevant Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and environmental permitting
  • Experience as an internal auditor
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage at all levels
