Senior Structural Engineer, Chelmsford

Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer in our Chelmsford-based building services and engineering practice, you will lead structural design across steel, reinforced concrete and timber from feasibility through construction support. You’ll own schemes end-to-end, managing clients and contractors with strong engineering judgement. You’ll mentor engineers and help shape a growing team within a UK consultancy culture. You’ll work on projects across WELL, residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors, delivering impactful buildings.

Pay / Benefits

• salary: 56,000 to 74,000 depending on experience
• on-site, full-time role
• Chelmsford location

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design across steel, reinforced concrete and timber
• Take schemes from concept to delivery, including construction support
• Manage clients and contractors and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct analysis using Tekla, Revit Structure, and Tedds or similar
• Develop and mentor junior engineers and sustain project-running discipline
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure design meets scope and budget
• Contribute to business growth and project delivery quality
• Maintain documentation and compliance for projects

Key requirements

• Chartered or near-chartered status
• strong UK consultancy experience
• ability to carry a scheme from concept through delivery
