Overview

In this role you will optimise resource allocation across the Disputes & Risk practice to boost productivity and profitability. You’ll partner with Partners, service line leaders and HR to align staffing with client needs and career development. You’ll help implement training and development, improve resourcing processes, and support wellbeing and performance. You’ll work within the D&R Operations team to drive service excellence and strategic delivery. This is an opportunity to shape how a major practice group staff and serve clients at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate client work to staff matters profitably and with balanced workloads
  • Build trusted relationships with Partners and Service Line Leaders to understand client requirements
  • Support development and performance management of lawyers with resourcing insights
  • Collaborate with HR and Knowledge teams to develop training and development programmes
  • Champion use of alternative resources (Legal Project Managers, technology, OC Solutions) to improve productivity
  • Attend service line management meetings to discuss workflow and utilization
  • Monitor chargeable/non-chargeable hours and flag over/under-utilisation of resources
  • Plan holidays to align with peak activity and resource constraints
  • Contribute to process improvements and technology enablement for client service
  • Support workforce planning with leadership on team structures and talent progression

Key requirements

  • Experience as a disputes fee earner
  • Strong relationship-building skills at all levels
  • Proven stakeholder management and change delivery experience
  • Ability to manage expectations across seniority levels
  • Autonomous time management and responsiveness
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Understanding of client-facing services across six service lines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyse performance data and present insights to partners
