Overview

In this role you will help utilities and related clients navigate the evolving retail energy landscape. You’ll act as a trusted advisor, scoping and delivering multi-faceted change programmes and transforming customer operations. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate data into practical recommendations and outcomes, with a focus on affordability, debt, billing, and regulatory change. You’ll join a market‑leading Retail Energy team at a firm recognised for its collaborative, values‑driven culture and Net Zero ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and deliver complex change programmes in retail energy
  • Advise clients on identifying, assessing, designing and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with client teams and Baringa teams on project delivery
  • Analyze data to build insights and translate into recommendations
  • Design and implement improvements to processes, customer journeys, and operating models
  • Support regulatory and market reforms and regulatory change initiatives
  • Contribute to bids, proposals, and client relationship development
  • Travel to client sites (1–2 days/week) and operate in a hybrid work environment

Key requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in a utilities retailer, management consultancy, strategic delivery role or adjacent energy industry environment
  • Strong structured problem solving and analytical rigour
  • Proven ability to develop high-quality insights and recommendations
  • Experience in customer affordability, consumer vulnerability, debt management, billing, revenue assurance, or related areas
  • Ability to build deep client and colleague relationships across the sector
  • Excellent communication and presenting skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists
  • Experience using data and analysis to diagnose problems and support decisions
  • Comfort with using data, digital and AI tools to support analysis and delivery
  • Programme/project or workstream delivery experience
  • Solid understanding of regulated environments or ability to quickly build it
