Overview

In this role you will lead global IFRS accounting in a fast-paced fintech environment, shaping group accounting policies and ensuring high-quality financial reporting. You will interact with senior stakeholders and external auditors to drive IFRS outcomes and policy documentation. You’ll oversee the Technical Accounting function and support the preparation of group financial statements. This is a high-impact opportunity to help build Checkout.com’s Finance function for scale and global growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting guidance on IFRS topics (revenue, financial instruments, software capitalization, leases, impairment)
  • Lead the Technical Accounting team and oversee complex global accounting topics
  • Develop and maintain group accounting policies and internal guidance, including new products/geographic expansion
  • Lead assessment and rollout of new or amended accounting standards
  • Communicate with senior stakeholders and coordinate with external auditors and internal functions (Treasury, Tax, legal entity controllers)
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and local GAAP disclosures as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement of technical accounting processes

Key requirements

  • 8 years post-qualification experience
  • Financial services experience
  • In-depth IFRS knowledge (IFRS 15, IFRS 9, IFRS 2)
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for accounting analysis
  • Experience in preparing/reviewing/auditing IFRS financial statements including complex disclosures
  • Experience in an international environment and liaising with external auditors
  • US GAAP experience is desirable but not essential
